DD420: Cultivating Support for Veteran Mental Health

Moreover, in a demonstration of our commitment to local communities, our 5 Timber Cannabis Co retail locations have taken an active role in supporting veterans. These locations have graciously donated to local veteran nonprofits using a portion of their proceeds from Timber Bundles, extending our dedication beyond the creation of DD420 to directly benefit those who have served in the areas we call home.

DD420 isn't merely a strain; it symbolizes a collective effort to create a community that values, appreciates, and actively supports the well-being of our veterans. In doing so, we hope to contribute to a future where our veterans receive the care, understanding, and recognition they rightfully deserve.

We actively sought a nonprofit dedicated to veteran mental health and found 92 for 22, committed to reducing the tragic statistic of 22 veteran suicides per day. 92 For 22 envisions raising funds to acquire property, constructing an environment for outdoor recreation and therapeutic experiences. This space aims to support veterans dealing with post-traumatic stress (PTS) and traumatic brain injuries (TBI), along with their families.

Our passionate High Minded wholesale team, alongside the caring staff at Timber Cannabis Co., wholeheartedly embraced their commitment to supporting veterans by selling DD420 with zeal. As the quarter concluded, we were thrilled to reveal that our combined efforts resulted in a substantial $4,000 donation to 92 for 22. This remarkable organization goes the extra mile, offering crucial education & resources, emotional support, and financial assistance to veterans in need.

We're grateful to have veterans among our Stash Ventures, Timber Cannabis Co. and High Minded teams, individuals who have dedicated themselves to serving our country. In August, Ryan Johns, one of our veteran employees, had the honor of presenting the $4,000 check to 92 for 22 during their annual fundraiser, the 92 for 22 Walk. This symbolic walk covers 92 miles, representing the 22 veteran suicides per day, and our contribution aims to make a meaningful impact on their vital mission.

Stash Venture’s Security Coordinator, Ryan’s take on the event:  “The 92 mile walk hosted by 92 for 22 was a wonderful event. The event was held in Grand Rapids and was set up to allow any participants to walk on either a quarter mile track or on a 1-mile loop. The event began by recognizing the difficulties that veterans face when transitioning from the military to civilian life and acknowledged the struggle that currently is resulting in an average of 22 veterans committing suicide a day.  The national anthem and a moment of silence were observed before the group kicked off the walk carrying the flags of each military branch. The walk ran all day long with community support coming in and out to log miles to make sure that 92 miles were hit and even possibly surpassed. The most amazing part for me was to see the gratitude and appreciation of the members of the organization's faces when we presented our donation. DD420 and its success will directly help many veterans receive the assistance and support they need to ensure they don't become 1 of the 22, and to be part of that drives my passion for doing what we do!"

     In 2023 our retail locations donated a total of $11,200 to Veteran nonprofits!
